Modern real estate in the Central Coast
The 2016 census found that the Central Coast is made up of 121,041 occupied private dwellings. The majority of these (78.5%) of these are separate houses, with 12.4% and 7.6% of these being semi-detached houses and flats or apartments respectively.
Similar to Sydney, the Central Coast property market has seen a spike over the past few years, although more recent studies have shown that the market has normalised. Strong investment from nearby Sydney keeps the market relatively stable, and a high demand for residential properties has also seen a strong land value increase.
Commission structures in the Central Coast can be divided into fixed or tiered commission, according to the terms that are negotiated with the agent. The agent commission rate in the Central Coast is 2.33% on average, but commission rates may vary.
A haven just outside the city
I have always had, as I know many people have, a singular passion for Australia. I do love the sunburnt country, its ancient landscapes, its exhilarating reaches of sand and sea.
– Peter Garret
Located a short 90-minute drive from Sydney, the Central Coast is distinctly different from the capital of New South Wales and the Hunter Valley in which it’s located – think of the Central Coast as the less urban, less industry-driven stepsister. But she certainly isn’t ugly.
A temperate oceanic climate means summers are warm and winters are mild, which is good news for beach lovers. One of the less developed and naturally beautiful beaches even shares a name with a very popular South American destination: Copacabana. The suburb of Terrigal is particularly popular for diving and surfing, but, as its name suggests, the entire Central Coast’s coastal proximity makes it a popular tourist destination.

Architecture in the Central Coast
To many visitors, it would seem that the Central Coast is found wanting when compared to Sydney or Newcastle’s historical architecture. However, the suburb of Gosford has some architectural highlights. Among these are the Hotel Gosford, dating from 1926, St. Mary’s, which was built in 1858, and the Henry Kendall Cottage, which dates from 1840. Gosford’s funeral home was built in the Art Deco style in 1938 and is well worth a look.

Having never dealt with any real estate agents in Perth before, I was terrified I would choose a real estate agent that would take advantage of my lack of experience. I stumbled my way online looking for local real estate agents and came across Perfect Agent’s website. I called the 1300 number and talked to a friendly staff member. No locked in contracts or anything, and by the end of the following day, a suitable candidate called me. All this for free! I got along with the real estate agent and he understood my situation; he sold my property without complications and the price it sold for exceeded my expectations.’Read Less
